PROJECT- AIMS & OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of this project running school in Chandauli District Uttar
Pradesh because education can be stated after defining the difference between
education and instruction. Education helps in the complete growth of an
individual’s personality, whereas instruction merely trains an individual or a
group in the efficient performance of some task. A human being may be a great
general, an efficient a first-class pilot, a lawyer, a mechanic or a pathologist, a
renowned doctor, a chemical engineer or a chartered accountant, but still remain
a semi-educated, ill-mannered, immoral, unrighteous or unjust person. Similarly,
someone may be a very fine painter, a good poet; or possess a love of beauty
which is highly delicate and sensitive, but may, at the same time, be cruel or
brutal, or an untruthful, unsocial individual, who deliberately ignores his or her
duty towards neighbors or even spouse and children. We can say that people
who have specialized in certain educational fields are well-instructed individuals,
but we cannot necessarily regard them as truly educated. On the other hand,
someone who knows and performs his or her duty towards self, family,
neighbors and humanity, and at the same time has acquired a basic knowledge
about how to earn a livelihood honestly and live a decent life, should be called an
educated person.
While the objective of the is to provide basic knowledge and life skills for all
school age children, Primary and Secondary provision is still characterized by
under – achievement which affects girls and most of the children in rural areas.
Boys in urban areas have higher achievement. The interventions suggested in
the Master Plan are aimed at enhancing quality, by upgrading the academic and
pedagogical skills of teachers, improving school infrastructure, increase the
supply of textbooks, increase supply and attain equitable deployment of
teachers to reduce the urban – rural disparities and providing adequate
supervision and support to teachers and schools.

Need Of Project
Education is divided into pre Primary and Secondary, middle (or intermediate),
secondary (or high school), and higher levels. Primary and Secondary school
includes children of ages six to eleven, organized into classes one through five.
Middle school pupils aged eleven through fourteen are organized into classes six
through eight, and high school students ages fourteen through seventeen are
enrolled in classes nine through twelve. Higher education includes technical
schools, colleges, and universities.
However, only slightly more than 50 percent of children between the ages of six
and fourteen actually attend school, although a far higher percentage is enrolled.
School attendance patterns for children vary from region to region and according
to gender. But it is noteworthy that national literacy rates increased from 43.7
percent in 1981 to 52.2 percent in 1991 (male 63.9 percent, female 39.4
percent), passing the 50 percent mark for the first time. There are wide regional
and gender variations in the literacy rates.
Youth form 50% of the targeted slums who are in need of some basic skill to
become productive and creative. 80% of the Youth of the targeted Community
lack skill to become productive as well as creative. In this condition BABUJI
MEMORIAL TRUST has identified villages Adult unemployed School College Drop
outs (boys & girls) who expressed their interest to learn computer and set a
career in computers.

Project Need
The honorarium for regular teachers and one support staff.
Some recurring expenses to run school and computer Training.
Justification
i) The area is very thinly populated and some of the students are to travel a few
kilometers to avail the school, so the literacy rate is very low.
i) The school has got the recognition from the Department of School Education
and the present roll strength is about 130 with almost 99% of the students
are poor and from the poor families which cannot provide two full meals to
the children every day.
iii) The present school is running, with an exhausted funding source. So the
school needs a source of fund till it becomes self-sustained.
Monitoring
The qualitative development of the project with implementation of the activities
will be monitored by a group of monitoring team consisting of the Executive
Director and Board members of BABUJI MEMORIAL TRUST and Personnel from
funding organization. The monitoring mechanism will include-
BABUJI MEMORIAL TRUST
